Security check tool for supply-demand schedule

Owing to the Electric Power System Reform in Japan, the transmission and generation/retail sectors are unbundled from the electricity utilities in 2020. Therefore, power generation companies generally participate in the electricity market by individually determining their generation schedules.

Hence, the daily supply-demand schedules are not determined by the power system operator but obtained as the sum of all the generation companies’ schedules. Although the reserve and regulating capacities are secured at the flexibility market, the network constraint violations such as voltage and stability cannot be avoided by such capacities.

Therefore, we have developed a security check tool to verify the feasibility of the supply-demand schedules in advance of the operation considering the network constraints as well as the supply-demand balance.
